Welcome to the fascinating world of Antique and Vintage sewing machines.

Please Note - machine translation may not be totally accurate

Our collection includes sewing machines made in both Europe and North America, and on the following pages you will find information about many of the companies that manufactured sewing machines as well as photographs of various types of machine that were produced.
Europe's first sewing machine manufacturer established in 1852 was Bradbury & Co and we have a sister site www.bradbury1852.co.uk which deals specifically with that Company.

We are seeking additional machines to preserve, particularly early cast base or unusually shaped ones. Please click here to see the list of machines we are currently looking for.

To add to our research archive we are also interested in obtaining further documentary material on any sewing machine manufacturer. This can be anything from a single advertisement, manual, period article through to one of the Trade Journals of the period. If you have any such material and can help please contact us.

We regret we CANNOT provide free valuations of sewing machines as there are so many variables that need to be taken into account. What we can say is we operate on a limited budget, the machines shown on this site cost as little as £2 and the most expensive £250.
Remember MOST machines were made in thousands or hundreds of thousands and Singers in Millions.
