This Treadle stand spent many years as part of a work bench before being left to the mercy of the elements in a garden on the South Coast of England. We hope to restore it and believe dates to the 1880's although we have been unable to find any information about the Company that made it - The Ward S. M. Co. or if this Company had any connection with E. Ward who produced the famous Arm & Platform sewing machine. The Stand may have been for an industrial type machine and we would be grateful for any information that helps identify it or a machine to go with it! Please contact us.
